About This Service

At Makewell, we provide compassionate, neuro-affirming mental health support for children and young people aged 8–25 experiencing emotional wellbeing difficulties.

Our Private CAMHS pathway offers early intervention for mild to moderate mental health challenges, helping young people feel understood, supported, and empowered before difficulties escalate.

We understand that emotional wellbeing does not exist in isolation. That’s why our approach considers the whole child — including their nervous system, sensory needs, school experiences, family relationships, and neurodivergent profile.

⚠ Exclusion Criteria

This pathway is not suitable for young people requiring urgent crisis intervention or high-risk mental health support.

Emergency & Urgent Care

If there is an immediate risk to life, call 999 or attend your nearest A&E. For urgent mental health support that is not an emergency, call 111 and select option 2 to speak to a trained mental health professional 24/7.

Our service supports children and young people experiencing:

  • Anxiety and worries
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Low mood
  • School-related stress or EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
  • Burnout and overwhelm
  • Friendship and social difficulties
  • Confidence and self-esteem difficulties
  • Sleep-related emotional impact
  • Trauma-related emotional responses
  • Neurodivergent-related mental health challenges
  • Emerging self-harm thoughts or behaviours

We support both diagnosed and undiagnosed neurodivergent young people, including those with:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Sensory processing differences
  • Demand avoidant profiles
  • Masking-related distress

We understand emotional difficulties through the lens of:

  • Processing differences
  • Sensory needs
  • Demand sensitivity
  • Nervous system overwhelm
  • Burnout and masking

We focus on understanding why behaviours happen rather than simply managing them.

We recognise that children and young people may be carrying stress, anxiety, school trauma, or experiences of feeling misunderstood.

Our clinicians prioritise emotional safety, trust, and connection.

Parents and carers are a vital part of support. We work collaboratively with families to build understanding, confidence, and practical strategies.

Makewell is not your typical clinic. Here’s what makes us special:

Free parking & beautiful green spaces (take mindful breaks during your visit)

Optional visits with our Makewell horses for sensory regulation and calm

Sensory-aware rooms designed for comfort and focus
