At Makewell, we offer compassionate, gold-standard autism assessments in Milton Keynes for adults and children aged 3 and over. Our neurodivergent-affirming team takes the time to understand you or your child in a calm, sensory-aware environment.
We also offer combined Autism and ADHD assessments for those who would like both explored together. All assessments take place at our clinic in Milton Keynes, with an online option available for adults.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how a person communicates, interacts with others, and experiences the world. It is a spectrum — meaning it presents differently in every individual.
Many autistic people have unique strengths, including attention to detail, deep focus on areas of interest, and creative thinking. An assessment helps you or your child understand these differences and access the right support.

Our clinic is set within 12 acres of open parkland at Bradwell Abbey in Milton Keynes. We understand that clinical environments can feel overwhelming, so we have designed our assessment rooms to be calm, quiet, and sensory-aware.
After your assessment, we will contact you by phone within approximately one week to share provisional results. Your full written report will follow within 8 weeks.
If a diagnosis is confirmed, we can help with onward referrals, shared care agreements with your GP for medication, and signposting to relevant support services.
Appointments can be in person at our clinic in Milton Keynes or online, depending on your preference.
*We generally ask that children attend in person face to face assessments rather than online. The same applies where a child has previously had an assessment that did not meet full criteria. This is our standard approach, though we do consider requests on a case-by-case basis — please let us know at the time of booking if either applies, and we’ll arrange the appropriate appointment.
Yes. Our assessments are carried out by qualified clinicians and are recognised by schools, local authorities, and the NHS. We hold NHS contracts and our clinic is CQC registered.
Please note that individual trusts and GPs may have their own policies regarding accepting private diagnoses, but the vast majority do accept them.
For children, a parent/s, guardian/s and/or caregiver must be present on the day.
