Advanced Female Fertility Blood Test – £139
Test Requirement – Early Morning Appointment; Book between 09:00-10:00
Are you looking to start a family and want a more complete understanding of your reproductive health? Perhaps you’re having difficulty conceiving and want to start exploring any underlying causes. This blood test has 12 key fertility biomarkers to help you understand your body better.
Positive signs of fertility include having regular menstrual cycles, healthy hormone levels, and monthly changes in cervical mucus, indicating ovulation. However, these aren’t requirements for fertility, nor can they prove you are fertile. The only way to be certain you are fertile is by becoming pregnant.
Blood tests and other investigations, like scans, can help identify issues that may affect your fertility, but in some cases, the cause of infertility isn’t found.
What does the test look at:
- Anti-Mullerian Hormone,
- FSH, LH
- Prolactin
- Thyroid hormones
If your fertility specialist has recommended any additional tests, please contact our bookings team, and we will work with our laboratories to meet your needs.
If you need Oestradiol in addition to the above tests, this can be added to your test on the day for an additional £40.
When should you have this blood test?
Plan for between days 2 and 5 of your menstrual cycle if you are having periods. If you are postmenopausal and looking at your general health then you can have the blood test at any time.
Special instructions for this blood test:
- Avoid vigorous exercise or sexual activity for 48hrs beforehand – both can raise your prolactin level
- Do not take biotin supplements for two days before this test.
