Helen is our Director of Nursing and Quality across ECG Healthcare (including Makewell).

Helen joined ECG Healthcare in 2022. Helen qualified as a nurse in 1990 and specialised in cardiology. As a CCU Sister, she began working with the clinical governance team to reduce the time it took for people to receive treatment after a heart attack and this led to her working full time in service improvement. In the early 2000s she led projects to initiate pre-hospital care, reduce waiting times for cardiac surgery, established cardiac rehabilitation services and improved community access for heart failure diagnosis.

Helen continued to work in service development with community partners. As Assistant Director for Long Term Conditions for West Essex PCT, she led a number of projects to improve access to care in community settings, reducing the need for hospital admissions and introduced a number of specialist nurse posts to help people to manage their conditions.

After leaving the NHS, Helen worked for Marie Curie as an area manager and as Head of Practice Development, leading staff development and learning in areas such as dementia and communication skills training.
